Swissair urgently needed new insignia and invited designers to submit new solutions. With a jewellery background, I was no stranger to this task.
The result was name badges for the entire uniformed ground and flying staff. I purposely avoided the popular eagle image in insignia (known as Wings) for their certified pilots, as well as for their hat badges. Flat US ‘clutchbacks’ were a practical and, for them, new form of attachment.
