PLASTIC
Immediately after graduating from the University of the Arts in Zürich, Switzerland, (formerly Kunstgewerbeschule) where I had the good fortune to be a pupil of Max Fröhlich, I left for the USA.
Experimenting with materials not then commonly used in jewellery was a welcome opportunity. Perspex and polysynthetic resin were easily obtained in any colour desired.
Using these ‘new’ materials in preference to all others opened up possibilities for new colours and applications that enamel, for instance, is too fragile to support.
